Shallow eyes don’t see underneath the skin
Red lipstick leaves its stain on the brain
Females compete in vain
For males to give them the time of day
Conceited minds for self-indulgence
They live the chore of being fake
So when you look, you see beauty in abundance
One day you may realise it’s powerless alone to sustain
A thoughtful mind can release your worries
A shoulder to cry can relax the strain
You will never see what can be offered
If you aren’t willing to see past the face
Amidst the stunning women
Who stroke egos to gratify their own
A beauty deeper than a pout
But you never look further than your superficial ways

With more and more people using facebook and other networking sites to meet people, the temptation to be shallow is ongoing. People competing to gain the attention of the opposite sex, and more often, girls trying to grab guys attention with their provocative profile pictures; no one really getting to know about anyone else or really communicating past the ‘like’ button on a picture or status…too many people getting gassed from picture comments.
Networking sites were intended for us to stay in contact with people you know or meet new friends, but it’s became a sexual predators buffet. If you’re profile pic aint cutting it, then don’t expect a poke! There’s plenty of others who are willing to flash a little more skin to distract the guy you’ve been instant messaging. What, you thought he only asked you out of his 1000+ friends for your number??
Is it just a phase or should we accept that this is the way people will meet from now on? Because if it is, it seems were destined to be shallow for eternity…
